Mustava and the Kauri Giant was an ecological play that toured in the beginning of the 1990s throughout New Zealand. It was all about one of the last big Kauri trees that was in danger of being chopped down. In this multicultural forest of his there was a Chinese dragon and a German Nome as well. At the end the Patupaiarehe saved the day and the Kauri with his powers. Here is a snapshot of what he looks like. Of course he spoke Maori and with his imposing figure, more than twice the size of the main character, he suddenly appeared in the forest. Sheer magic when a stunning aaahhhh went through the audience the moment he showed up.
